OTIS has contracted with Motorola Solutions Inc. to provide efficient, cost-effective public safety grade interoperable two-way radio services statewide. The South Carolina Statewide 800 MHz Radio and Mobile Data System, known commonly as Palmetto 800, is a cost-shared public/private partnership between state government, local governments, power utilities, and Motorola Solutions Inc.
OTIS manages the system with the support of an elected advisory committee which ensures user input into the system. Customers can review policies, rules, and additional information on Palmetto 800 MHz system at Palmetto 800 Network.
All purchase orders must be issued to Motorola Solutions Inc. to be considered a state contract purchase. Purchase orders issued to Motorola franchise shops (MSS) are not considered purchases under the state of South Carolina contract #4400013556.
